Birds at Carillon Park - June 14, 2013

The most interesting bird today was a least bittern.  I have seen them here many times (although this is the only place I have ever seen one); however, today, before dawn, the least bittern was swelling up his throat and making a strange clucking sound.  I found this quite entertaining.  I had to use a flash to get a clear shot, but it worked out well.  Also interesting was the brown thrasher, which I have also seen here before, but not for quite some time.  Today I counted five!

least bittern
 anhinga (female)
 mottled ducks
great egrets
 red-winged blackbird (female)
 brown thrashers
