Infrared at Bok Tower - August 14, 2015

I visit Bok Tower once every 5 years for the past 10 years: 2005, 2010, 2015.  I guess I like traditions.  The first time I visited the park, I was still using a film camera, and there were beautiful swans there to photograph.  They are making a lot of rennovations, so I can't wait to come back in 2020!

Got one more chance to use my new infrared camera today. I think some of these images are even better than Sunken Gardens last month, perhaps because I brought my tripod, and had some experience using it already!

Disney World - August 8, 2015

Some nice images from the Lion King show and night time fireworks.

False Color Images, Sunken Gardens - July 17, 2015

Some of the infrared photos I took today just needed something else to be interesting.  So I converted some of my infrared images into false color images.  These took a long time and multiple layers, but were fun and felt more like "art" than my usual images.

Infrared at Sunken Gardens - July 17, 2015

I have always wanted to try infrared photography, but was frustrated with having to use a tripod and filters that black out the image from the back of the camera.  The only option for me was to purchase a camera that had been converted for infrared photography.  Filters are still needed, and I purchased several to try today.  The real work and creativity comes after the images are taken in the way they are edited in Photoshop.  I had to look up on youtube how to process the images, and took it from there!  I did not use a tripod for any of these images, but they may have been even better if I did.

Green Heron at Sunken Gardens - July 17, 2015

So fun to watch this green heron diving for small fish in this koi pond at the gardens today.  He was not afraid of me taking pictures either which is unusual because green herons are usually shy.

Great White Heron - July 17, 2015

This rare heron is still hanging around in a retention pond just north of US52 in Pasco County.  Today I probably got my best shot of him so far.

Butterflies at Weeki Wachee Park - July 4, 2015

Not too many birds at the park today, just what you would expect.  I did get some shots of a butterfly and saw other wildlife including deer and gopher tortoise.

Inverness Fireworks - July 3, 2015

I love this fireworks display.  It just keeps going and has beautiful, close-up fireworks.  I brought my tripod finally this year, the past two years I just set my camera on my camera bag and used the self-timer, and that worked okay, but this of course worked even better.  Also, here is the link to fireworks photos for 2014 and 2013 too!
