Apopka Wildlife Drive - December 27, 2015

This was my first trip to the Apopka Wildlife drive.  It is only open on weekends and holidays.  It is a successful restoration project along former farms along the once heavily (fertilizer) polluted Lake Apopka.  I was hoping to see fulvous whistling ducks, a life bird for me, and I did!  Also was looking for the reported gray swamphen, but no luck finding that one.  There were a lot of other duck species shoveler and black-bellied whistling duck are pictured below) and northern harrier.  Also pictured below are common yellowthroat warbler (juvenile), kingfisher, red-shouldered hawk (juvenile), and little blue heron (juvenile).
