I was able to go out birding again today, on the final day of the year. Fitting to spend it where I first really got into birding back in winter of 2011. Strangely, I saw another turtle nest being eaten again today, this time by a young raccoon. Also a flock of cedar waxwings flew over, a first for the park, along with the usual variety of birds. At one point a gator crossed the trail in front of me, which was a bit scary, but not unusual for the park. Back in March, an even larger gator crossed the path, at least creating a good photo op.
