Merritt Island NWR - January 2, 2016

Still on winter break from work, so I am taking advantage of the time and driving far each day.  Today I made it to Merritt Island.

 pied-billed greebe

 American bittern

reddish egrets, great egrets, and much more!

 The only redhead duck I saw today, although there were shovelers and pintails here today

skimmers, caspian terns, american avocets, and more

 many shorebirds

 belted kingfisher at the manatee area (where there were 2 manatees)

bald eagle
