Today I got to go to a work conference in Lakeland and it was right next to Circle B! I got here not too long after sunrise and walked just the middle trail. The main trail has been closed for alligator mating season.
At one point a fledged baby hawk was being attacked by fish crows. I am not sure if they were trying to kill it for food or if they had a nest in the area and wanted him to leave. I think the second is more likely. Eventually, the parent came over to save him!
The Sora was the best bird of the morning. Also saw a rat, which doesn't sound exciting, but was unusual and actually cute.
