Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary - June 12, 2016

Took the day off from June Challenge today to go to see the Skimmers nesting near the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary.  First, they had moved much further down the beach for the first time since I have been visiting them.  I guess there was too much vegetation grown in near the bird sanctuary.  Not sure if that worked out for them, since basically all the eggs were destroyed when the tide came in during the tropical storm this week.  Just a small handful of nests at the highest elevation had recent hatchlings, the others were about to start over, so I will check back next month.  What a change from the activity this time last year.
