Snail Kites at Lake Parker - March 5, 2017

Aside from the snail kite release in 2014, I had never seen the endangered snail kite before.  Today, I went looking at a known spot, Lake Parker.  Sure enough, as soon as I looked at the tops of the cypress, there they were, two female snail kites.
